Travel Tip: New & Different Attractions on Mega Cruise Ships

It seems like every generation of cruise ships is bigger and more extravagant, and this year is no exception.

Norwegian Cruise Line just launched the Norwegian Getaway, sister to the Norwegian Breakaway. They’ve partnered up with the Grammy Museum, with live performances from past winners.  Plus, there are full Broadway productions and a space dedicated to magic and illusion.

MSC Cruises recently brought the new MSC Divina to North America. It’s an Italian line, so it’s no surprise there’s an Eataly restaurant on board. But, probably the wackiest thing is that they’ve brought an Italian workout craze called the Hydrorider—a cycle that works underwater.

The Regal Princess will set sail in May. They’ve got a very cool glass-bottomed SeaWalk that will extend 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship.

Ever thought about skydiving at sea? You can on Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, the Quantum of the Seas, sailing in November. They’ll also have a glass pod 300 feet above the ship and even an on-board circus school.

I’m telling you, you can’t make this stuff up!
