Globus will require vaccine

The Globus family of brands tomorrow will announce that all guests will be required to provide proof of a Covid-19 vaccine, a negative test or virus immunity in order to travel.

The company, which operates the tour and vacation package brands Globus, Cosmos and Monograms as well as the river line Avalon Waterways, said the new rule will take effect for all travel beginning in April.

The company currently is operating only limited tours in the U.S. All of its international tours and river cruises have been suspended through at least April due to the uncertainty surrounding border closures.

Under Globus’ updated Health Safety Protocols, all guests will be required to show printed or digital verification of a Covid19 vaccination obtained at least 14 days prior to travel, proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel or proof of recovery from a confirmed Covid19 diagnosis within three months of travel.

“The health and safety of our travelers is our No. 1 priority,” Globus family of brands CEO Scott Nisbet said in a statement.  “We have continued to enhance ontrip safety standards throughout the pandemic to ensure we’re ready to welcome guests back to travel when the world is ready.”

Additionally, the company said it will facilitate, and cover the cost of, any additional Covid19 testing required for guests to return to their home country as well as tests during their trip if guests show symptoms.

To ease pretrip stress, the company said it also offering guests more payment flexibility by shortening the final payment window for all brands from 90 to 45 days prior to departure.

“In a world of uncertainty, we want travelers to enjoy peace of mind that their vacation — and their finances — are in good hands,” said Nisbet. “As they get closer to their departure date, they can feel confident about — and excited for — their journey, knowing that final payment is not due until six weeks before they’re scheduled to go.”
